Chasing Torpedoes: Technology’s Role in Baseball’s Everlasting Balance
Loved it Doug!
"Maybe that is what makes baseball so fun—especially with its large sample sizes by season’s end."
So MUCH fun. Fun is a noun, not an adjective.
And there is more than one kind of torpedo.
And yet people still want it banned
It is a legal bat too!
Doug,
Loved you at Penn, loved you in the bigs, love you on the air, now loving your voice on the podcast and Substack.
Had you never made the majors, you could've maybe been another Tom Boswell.
Thanks so much! I always loved to write so it is great to have a spot to do it more than I have over the past few years. Hope you are well! Doug
This is a point I missed covering torpedo bats: It’s the hitter that makes the bat great, not the other way around.
Also, theres footage of Bryce Harper swinging a 48 ounce tree trunk. The idea some guys can swing anything can’t be understated.
such great considered writing! was hoping you'd write about this
